Overview
A great opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Technician within our Capital Estates and Facilities at Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne. The post holder will assist the Estates Supervisors in the delivery of services within the department and will be responsible for repairs, fault-finding and routine planned maintenance to services, plant and equipment at Broadmoor, ensuring compliance with all Statutory Regulations, HTMs, Trust Standards, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Estates Supervisors in the delivery of services within the department.
* Carry out repairs, fault-finding and routine planned maintenance to services, plant and equipment at Broadmoor.
* Manage, co-ordinate and monitor plant room maintenance activities using both directly employed labour and contractual services to ensure the estate is maintained to fulfil its functions safely, economically and efficiently, while complying with statutory requirements and trust policies.
* Work closely with other Estates and Facilities team members to maintain buildings to a high standard.
* Carry out competent person duties within HTMs.
* Demonstrate a good working knowledge of HSAWA, COSHH and safe working practices.
* Prioritise tasks to minimise disruption to patients and visitors; communicate effectively and work well as part of a team.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Operational Mechanical Technician with experience in a maintenance environment.
* Ability to use skills to complete work with minimal disruption to patients and visitors.
* Good communication skills; team-oriented and able to work collaboratively.
* Strong understanding of HSAWA, COSHH, and safe working practices.
* Willingness to work within HTMs and to maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
* Experience working in a healthcare/estates environment is desirable.
