Ifield School are very excited to reinstate the role of After School Clubs and Ifield Life Co-ordinator. As After School Clubs and Ifield Life Club Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for planning and implementing the timetable for the reintroduction of hosted sleepovers for secondary age pupils and sixth form students and ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing levels are in place. The successful candidate will be employed for 7 hours per week, Monday to Thursday from 3.45pm to 5.30pm, term time only. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to reintroduce the extra-curricular fun learning activities that school clubs and Ifield Life provide for our pupils. The successful candidate will have full support of the Leadership Team whilst they re-establish this role and we are very much open to discussing new ideas.

Key responsibilities and duties of the After School Clubs and Ifield Life Co-ordinator role may include:

* Ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing of all After School Clubs and Ifield Life.
* Liaising with parents /carers regarding attendance at After School Clubs and Ifield Life.
* Responsibility for ensuring pupils are collected and dismissed safely at the end of clubs.
* Determining the After School Clubs and Ifield Life timetable.
* Liaising with the Finance Department.

The candidate must have:

* Specialist SEND experience working with children and young adults. We would also consider exceptional candidates that lack this experience but come from a carer/medical background and can demonstrate a strong ability and capacity to work with our children and young people at Ifield School.
* NVQ level 2 supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent, alongside GSCE grades C or above in Maths and English (you will be required to produce original certificates).
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to use own initiative and manage own workload.
* The ability to lead and supervise staff, maintaining effective and communicative working relationships on all levels.
* Patience, understanding and resilience to work in a special school.
* Enthusiastic and passionate about supporting and working with pupils with severe and complex needs.
* Computer literacy with sound ICT skills
* Multi-lingual skills to support EAL pupils would be an advantage
