Salary: £39,000 + (Depending on experience)
Location: Shrewsbury

About IPSD
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests, and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat and Perkins engines powering over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Sustainability is a key focus, and IPSD is actively developing green energy solutions for the future.
Job Summary
An exciting opportunity for a Logistics Engineer has arisen within the Supply Chain team at Caterpillar Shrewsbury. The role offers the chance to interface with all departments across the site, as well as multiple Customers and Suppliers both domestically and internationally.
What You Will Do:
* Apply process improvement tools and assist with implementing efficient and competitive logistics solutions.
* Coordinate with all business functions to define critical parameters and develop plans for process control and improvements.
* Maintain internal logistics process engineering standards, knowledge, and tools; ensure their implementation in current and new operations.
* Evaluate logistics processes and workflows, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for process-related concerns.
What You Have:
* Degree or equivalent experience desired
Skills and Knowledge:
* Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work constructively with diverse individuals and groups.
* Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions, supporting departmental audits, and promoting cross-functional collaboration.
* Lean Manufacturing: Understanding of lean principles, tools, and their application.
* Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics operations, process development, and effective movement of materials.
* Materials Handling and Management: Skills in storage, transportation, and handling of raw and hazardous materials, including environmental considerations.
* Problem Management Process - QAD: Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies, corrective and preventative actions, and software tools.
