Do you want to take ownership of cost management, billing, and commercial operations for a growing regional division, all from a dedicated office base? An established infrastructure and civil engineering business supporting major off-track rail projects across the UK is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. Based in their Grantham office, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery through accurate cost control, contract management, and commercial reporting. Benefits: Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum Company pension scheme Free on-site parking Structured support from experienced commercial leaders Clear career progression within a stable and reputable business Office-based role with a professional and collaborative team environment Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and tender documents Manage client billing and ensure invoicing aligns with contractual terms Handle COWD (Cost of Work Delivered) and prepare payment applications Strong knowledge of building contracts and rail frameworks Conduct accurate spend forecasting to support budget control and financial planning Monitor project costs, budgets, and performance metrics Assist with procurement processes and subcontractor management Support project teams with commercial insight and risk mitigation Liaise with clients to resolve commercial queries and agree final accounts Maintain comprehensive commercial and financial records Generate detailed commercial reports and KPI dashboards for senior management What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the rail sector Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, cost control, and procurement processes Familiarity with MTSQS Portal and National Schedule of Rates (NSR) is desirable Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Excellent attention to detail, negotiation, and communication skills Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in quantity surveying or construction management Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively Let’s Talk If you're looking for a role where your input truly makes a difference, not just spreadsheets and paperwork, we’d love to hear from you.
