Their work sits at the intersection of data, science, and human decision-making, which have a direct impact on the future of patient care. Your being joining a small, mission driven team, early in the journey and will have a direct impact on shaping the product and overall feel of the platform and useability. Design and build core back-end services in Python (FastAPI) Produce prototypes, including data ingestion pipelines, embedding workflows, and recommendation components Develop high-performance APIs supporting semantic search, clustering insights, and protocol-generation features Deploy, operate, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS/Postgres, OpenSearch) Build robust, scalable ingestion pipelines for clinical and scientific data sourcesx` Shape and evolve data models spanning structured data, unstructured text, embeddings, and AI-driven systems What we're looking for Around 5 years of back-end engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a commercial environment Strong Python, with hands-on experience building and running production services Experience with modern web frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent Solid understanding of Postgres and relational data modelling (schemas, indexing, migrations) Practical AWS experience, including EC2, S3, IAM, and networking fundamentals Fluency with Docker and Docker Compose A few important notes You don't need to come from health tech or life sciences We value different paths into engineering and welcome applicants from under-represented backgrounds If you meet most (but not all) of the criteria, we'd still love to hear from you If you're excited by the idea of shaping how scientific insight is understood and want to build something meaningful from the ground up we'd love to talk.
