Role Overview
We are looking for a talented individual to take on the role of Team Lead – Hydrogeology‑ Water Quantity within the Ground & Water team in the UK and India. Candidates should have strong leadership and interpersonal qualities, business management skills and a passion for the discipline.
Responsibilities
* Support the Service Team Lead in budget delivery and associated metrics, including tracking and reviewing performance, resourcing and ensuring required Project Hours are met.
* Assist the team and technical specialists to drive accountability for winning and delivering work to budget and programme.
* Disseminate company and team communications so messages are received.
* Demonstrate technical leadership and take responsibility for quality of outputs in the region, acting as reviewer or authoriser of reports and bids.
* Support the team in ensuring local site audits and required action or training needs.
* Oversee a culture of support and inclusion regarding health & safety, liaising with the Health and Safety Group.
* Promote and adhere to the Business Management System and internal processes.
* Liaise with Service Team Lead and Sector Leads over Go‑No Go decisions, ensuring necessary governance.
* Lead, coordinate, and assist with major bids, contributing to commercial and technical value.
* Support business development activities through engagement with Sector Leads and key clients.
* Engage in key client relationships, leading cross‑selling opportunities.
* Obtain regular client feedback and drive improvement.
* Provide mentoring and coaching for junior team members.
* Support people managers in people matters, coordinating with HR/ER.
* Communicate staff retention issues or flight risks to Service Team Lead.
* Offer technical and commercial mentoring of junior staff.
* Oversee recruitment requirements and ensure alignment with team strategies.
* Ensure training requirements are considered at the regional level.
* Promote WSP values on HSSE, diversity, inclusion and equality.
* Engage regularly with team members through a strong office presence.

Qualifications
* Relevant technical degree (chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, environmental science).
* Working towards or prepared to work towards Chartership / Professional Qualification (e.g., QP) with a relevant institution.
* Ability to travel.
