Are you a highly experienced Infrastructure Engineer looking for a move? Sopra Steria’s Aerospace, Defence and Security sector is recruiting for a Deployment and Monitoring Engineer with expertise in Linux and automation technologies to join a team supporting a key client in the defence sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly technical individual to take ownership of the role and contribute to strategic and technical direction. If you have a solid grounding in Linux and a passion for automation using Ansible and Terraform, this one is for you.
This role will be based in the Farnborough office. Due to the nature of the projects, we can only progress with candidates eligible for DV clearance.
What you’ll be doing
* Maintenance of several domains in a multi‑tenancy private cloud environment with an automation‑first mindset
* Patching, configuring, and deploying the Linux estate, ensuring compliance with various frameworks and addressing vulnerabilities that may arise within the supply chain
* Developing an effective automation strategy using Ansible and Terraform
* Engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders
* Managing deliverables in a highly pressurised, secure environment
What you’ll bring
* General Linux system administration & management (RHEL & Debian)
* Experience with Red Hat Satellite
* Proficiency in Ansible & Terraform for automation
* Bash & Python scripting skills
* Good stakeholder engagement and customer‑facing skills

* Experience working in the defence sector
