Resourcery Group is supporting a Liverpool-based Housing Association in the search for an Assistant Accountant – Tax to join their finance team. Reporting into a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of an efficient and compliant tax function across a complex organisation. The Role
This is a varied role as Assistant Accountant – Tax where you’ll support across a range of tax and finance activities, including:
* Supporting tax compliance across VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax and SDLT
* Preparing data and schedules for tax returns and submissions
* Assisting with annual tax computations and ongoing reporting
* Reviewing financial data to identify risks, trends, and opportunities
* Helping improve tax processes, controls, and documentation
* Supporting automation and efficiency improvements
* Working with internal teams, HMRC, and external advisors
* Maintaining accurate records and audit trails
About You
* Part-qualified (AAT or studying ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
* Some exposure to tax (VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax) — or a strong interest in this area
* Experience in a finance role within a larger or more complex organisation (desirable)
* Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
* High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
* Well organised, able to manage multiple deadlines
* Proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn
* Strong communication skills and able to build relationships across the business

Process
* The interview process for Assistant Accountant – Tax will include a competency-based interview and a short Excel assessment. You will need to be available around 14 April 2026.
