The Role:
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will provide crucial support to our senior commercial team, helping to ensure the financial success of our projects from conception to completion. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
* Measuring quantities from drawings and specifications (taking off).
* Helping to manage subcontractor accounts, including processing payments and evaluating variations.
* Supporting with cost control and monitoring project expenditure.
* Assisting in the preparation of valuations and applications for payment.
* Helping to identify and report on potential cost variances and risks.
* Maintaining accurate and organised financial records and documentation.
* Collaborating with the project management and site teams.
What We're Looking For:
* A minimum of an HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. A BSc degree is a strong advantage.
* A genuine passion for the construction industry and a desire to build a career in quantity surveying.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and a willingness to learn.
* A proactive, problem-solving attitude.
A Significant Advantage:
While not essential, previous experience working with or under a Construction Manager will be highly valued. Understanding the pressures, challenges, and workflows of a live construction site from a management perspective will give you a unique edge and allow you to integrate into our projects more effectively.
