About the Role As a Night Receptionist, you are responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and smooth overnight operation of the hotel while delivering exceptional service to guests. Acting as the primary point of contact during night hours, you will oversee the hotel environment, support departments, and ensure every guest need is met to the highest company standards.
This role is ideal for someone calm under pressure, highly responsible, and service-driven, with the confidence to work independently while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail throughout the night shift.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Service Provide a courteous, welcoming, and professional service to guests at all times.
Support the Night Auditor in delivering a seamless 24-hour guest experience.
Handle late-night situations tactfully and diplomatically, including managing intoxicated guests while maintaining a safe environment.
Enter breakfast orders and room or bar service requests accurately into the EPOS system.
Hotel Operations & Night Oversight Take responsibility for the security of the hotel overnight, ensuring all areas remain safe and well monitored.
Maintain lounges, terraces, and public areas in a tidy condition ready for morning operations.
Ensure the stillroom is organised and prepared for early breakfast service.
Order newspapers as required and check forward planners for additional conference requests.
Ensure electric buggies are charged and ready for the morning shift.
Team Support & Collaboration Assist the Duty Manager/Night Manager and all departments as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Support early-morning teams (Kitchen, Restaurant, Housekeeping, Porters, etc.) with keys, stores, equipment queries, and operational assistance.
Communicate clearly with the early Duty Manager regarding overnight issues or incidents.
Safety, Compliance & Maintenance Maintain full awareness of fire safety procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
Conduct nightly checks such as light bulb inspections and basic maintenance tasks where safe to do so.
Ensure Company policies, Vision, and departmental standards are followed at all times.
Demonstrate understanding of privacy, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
Knowledge & Professional Standards Maintain strong knowledge of hotel layout, facilities, and key operational areas including fuse boxes and storage locations.
Uphold high standards of presentation, professionalism, and integrity throughout the shift.
