Overview
We are seeking a Part Time Consultant Anaesthetist in Birmingham who is ready to join a small team of dedicated clinicians striving for excellence. The role is to work a day a week.
Salary information: the full‑time post is £130k per annum for 40 hours per week; on a pro rata basis this role will be £32,500 per year.
Responsibilities
* Provide anaesthetic clinical cover as part of a small team and be a good team player.
* Engage in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement; contribute to developing high‑quality services for patients.
* Support development of day‑case major arthroplasty pathways and adhere to GIRFT ideals; trial and introduce new implants as appropriate.
* Be flexible to meet the needs of the service and colleagues.
* Attend meetings and contribute to teaching of centre staff as part of the consultant team led by the Medical Director, Hospital Director and Senior leadership management.
Role Context
We are seeking substantive NHS Consultants who are looking to work privately, every Monday weekly. The Practice Plus Group supports each other and sharing best practice. You would be an integral part of our team of consultants.

Qualifications and Requirements
* Current registration with the GMC specialist register of anaesthetists.
* Several years of experience, with at least 2 years in the UK.
* Commitment to continuing medical education and professional development.
* Ongoing medical competence supported through participation in the GMC and the Royal College of Anaesthetists revalidation/reaccreditation schemes; mandatory training via in‑house education programme.
* Opportunity to develop into a specialist role of interest.
* Right to work in the UK.
