Role Overview
The Head of Strategy will help guide Vestas leadership, overseeing four strategic teams and driving strategic projects. This role also focuses on helping shape Vestas geographic growth, including acquisition selection and integration. The role will also form part of Vestas acquisition board to ensure acquisition capital is being deployed wisely. In addition to these core duties, the Head of Strategy is responsible for identifying new market opportunities, analysing competitive landscapes, and advising senior executives on long‑term initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure that strategic objectives are aligned throughout the organisation. By leading post‑acquisition efforts and integrating new business units, the Head of Strategy plays a critical role in expanding Vestas footprint and ensuring sustained success in diverse regions. This position also involves ongoing evaluation of emerging trends, risks, and partnerships to drive innovation and maintain Vestas competitive edge within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution
* Develop and lead the strategic planning process across Vestas portfolio.
* Identify and evaluate growth opportunities including M&A, market expansion, and product innovation.
* Collaborate with portfolio leaders, divisional leaders & group leaders to align business unit strategies with group objectives.
* Monitor industry trends and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
Geographic Expansion & M&A Strategy
* Define long‑term strategy for geographic expansion, including market prioritisation and entry models.
* Oversee post‑acquisition integration planning and execution, ensuring strategic fit and operational alignment.
* Partner with M&A and integration leads to ensure smooth transitions and value realisation.
Team Leadership
AI Initiatives Team
Spearhead the adoption of artificial intelligence across Vestas diverse business units by identifying high‑impact use cases, launching pilot projects, and establishing robust governance frameworks. Engage cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and seamless integration into existing operations. Develop comprehensive training programmes to foster internal expertise, monitor industry developments to remain at the forefront of innovation, and implement evaluation metrics to track progress and value creation. Continuously refine best practices and facilitate knowledge sharing to accelerate AI‑driven transformation throughout the organisation.
Pricing & Organic Growth Team
Lead comprehensive strategic pricing analyses, develop innovative contract growth strategies, and design targeted upsell programmes to maximise revenue across Vestas newly acquired companies. Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to assess market conditions, identify pricing opportunities, and implement dynamic pricing models that drive profitability and competitive advantage. Support cross‑functional initiatives to enhance organic growth, leveraging data‑driven insights and industry benchmarks to inform decision‑making and optimise long‑term value creation.
Operational Performance Team
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing operational resilience, streamlining core business processes, and implementing advanced performance tracking methodologies across the portfolio. Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to assess workflow efficiencies, identify bottlenecks, and develop actionable solutions that optimise resource allocation and minimise operational risks. Champion the use of data analytics and key performance indicators to create transparent reporting structures and enable real‑time decision making. Foster a culture of operational excellence by facilitating regular workshops, sharing best practices, and encouraging cross‑functional collaboration to ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality results throughout the organisation.
Management Integrations
Oversee integration playbooks, dashboards, and tooling (e.g., Monday.com) to ensure consistent execution across acquisitions.
Portfolio Alignment & Reporting
* Build best practice groups and deliver operational training sessions across the portfolio.
* Prepare strategic reports and presentations for executive leadership and board‑level discussions.
* Support the Long‑Term Profit Committee and Strategic Pricing Initiatives.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in strategic planning, corporate development, or management consulting.
* Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Business Unit: Experience in software, technology, or private equity environments preferred.
