*OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE*
To carry out the service, repair and maintenance of a wide range of industrial/commercial entrance control equipment such as, automatic sliding and hinged gates, traffic barriers, road blockers, and pedestrian turnstiles.
*WORK ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTS*
This role is based remotely, and you will be responsible for all aspects of your day-to-day workload. We try to keep engineers travel to a minimum, however on occasions overnight stays and short-notice trips could be necessary. Health and Safety is top priority to ensure that everyone returns home safely after a working day.
*GENERAL DESCRIPTION – TASK RELATED*
Carry-out allocated work associated with the service, repair and maintenance of both Heras and Non-Heras products.
Diagnose and quantify repairs or upgrades and provide prompt feedback to the customer and the in-house service team.
Carry-out equipment surveys to ensure that all items are compliant with the latest standards, regulations and DHF code of practice.
Complete all relevant paperwork clearly and concisely, gaining the required customer sign-off.
Participate in the out-of-hours phone support, call-out and standby rotas when necessary.
Participate in, complete and achieve all mandatory training sessions/courses.
Be a positive promoter of Heras and always adhere to our company quality standards.
*SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:*
*Essential:*
* Full UK Driving License
* Mechanical and Electrical experience
* Experience in repair/installation of traffic barrier or automatic gate systems
* Hydraulics
*Desirable*
* 17th or 18th Edition wiring regs
* Three phase and single-phase electrical knowledge
* City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical or equivalent
* Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (desirable or organised by Heras)
* Security Check / Counter Terrorist Check (desirable or organised by Heras)
* DHF Gate Safety Diploma (desirable or organised by Heras)
* Relevant CSCS Card

* Good understanding of wiring diagrams.
* Knowledge of the relevant standards and regulations.

* Proven ability to diagnose and repair a range of access equipment (Heras and/or non-Heras products).
* Previous experience of PLC fault finding.
