Our client, a discounted retailer are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to join their ever-growing successful business on a permanent basis working across several sites in the UK.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the execution of engineering, automation, and innovation projects by managing day- to- day technical tasks and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
As a Project Engineer your duties will be: -
* Project Management: Manage projects across automation, engineering, facilities, innovation, and other workstreams, ensuring successful execution from initial planning through to project completion.
* Full Project Lifecycle Oversight: Oversee all stages of the project lifecycle, including conceptualisation, planning, execution, and post-implementation. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the agreed-upon success criteria.
* Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and report on issues and risks throughout the project. Develop and implement mitigation plans to address these challenges and ensure minimal impact on project timelines and quality.
* Resource & Cost Management: Track project resources, manage costs effectively, and monitor timelines to ensure key project milestones are achieved, ensuring operational continuity and project success.
* Cost Estimation & Technical Analysis: Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, create presentations for management, and conduct technical studies to support project decisions and recommendations.
* Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to root cause analysis for complex project challenges, develop, and implement effective solutions, and continuously improve project management practices and governance.
* Product Performance Testing: Confirm product performance by designing and conducting appropriate tests, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
The successful Project Engineer will have the following skills: -
* Degree qualified in Engineering or relevant field.
* Significant Experience working in a commercially focused fast paced environment, with a challenging, broad stakeholder landscape - ideally in one of the Retail, warehousing, intralogistics, or FMCG industries.
* Demonstrable experience of leading and delivering projects, commission testing.
* Project Management skills with experience of supporting projects relating to facilities, infrastructures, energy & power.
* Strong technical expertise in leading Automation and Engineering detail design.
* Excellent IT skills – competent on MS Office, e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.
* Excellent knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD
Please note, there will be some UK travel involved within this role so must have UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
