Senior Town Centre and Economic Development Officer
Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire
Salary: £39,862 – £42,839 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Permanent, Home‑working contract
Hours: 37 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee projects and strategies focused on car parks, town centres, markets, economic development, and the visitor economy.
* Lead operational management of car parks and the development of traditional markets and market traders.
* Work closely with local businesses, community members and external stakeholders to deliver regeneration projects.
* Co‑ordinate with funding bodies, handle related processes and understand their priorities.
* Manage external contractors and consultancy teams.
* Attend the council site at least two days per month for meetings and collaboration.
Candidate Profile
* Experience in operational management of car parks or similar facilities.
* Experience in developing traditional markets and working with market traders.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and build confidence with a wide audience.
* Understanding of Local Authority governance processes.
* Knowledge of funding bodies, processes and priorities.
* Experience dealing with external contractors and consultancy teams.
* Capacity to work independently and to coordinate multiple projects.
Working Arrangements
The role is largely a home‑working position with most duties carried out from home. Employees will be contractually required to attend the site on no more than two days per month (approximately 40% of working time). The remainder of duties can be performed remotely.
