Sellick Partnership are working closely with a local authority in the North West seeking an experienced Conveyancing Officer to join their Legal Services team on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied and complex caseload of conveyancing and land-related matters within a supportive and well-established local government environment. The role offers remote working and will be initially offered on a 3-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.
Responsibilities
* Carry out conveyancing and land-related transactions on behalf of the Council, including purchases, sales, leases, and licences
* Undertake compulsory purchase and similar statutory processes
* Support the Council's Capital and Land Programme, meeting conveyancing targets
* Provide advice and assistance to officers regarding land ownership and property issues
* Prepare and process legal documentation relating to property and land matters
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Council policies and legal standards
Requirements
* Fellow or Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx), Licensed Conveyancer, or Law Degree (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in commercial conveyancing
* Ability to manage a busy and complex caseload with minimal supervision
* Strong communication and organisational skills, with a professional and client-focused approach
* Previous local authority experience is desirable but not essential
