Payroll Specialist
Location: Poole, Dorset
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Circa £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full or part-time hours available
Full-time hours: 36.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm & Friday 8.30am – 4pm
Part-time hours: 3 days (Monday to Wednesday) or 4 days (Monday to Thursday) or across 5 days

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a leading company with multiple sites. You will be running weekly payroll for approximately 450 staff and monthly payroll. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Key responsibilities
* Running end-to-end payroll for multiple sites, for monthly and weekly payrolls.
* Accurately collating and processing timesheets including overtime.
* Processing and checking new starters, leavers, and payroll changes, ensuring compliance with audit controls.
* Managing end-to-end payroll processing for all employees.
* Maintaining accurate employee records, including tax codes, deductions, and pensions.
* Responding to payroll queries from employees.
* Ensuring compliance with HMRC submissions (FPS, EPS), producing P60s and P45s.
* Processing statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and pensions.
* Preparing payroll journals and assisting with year-end preparations.
* Submitting P11D and P11D(b) at year-end.
* Coordinating with HR and Finance departments to ensure payroll accuracy.
* Assisting with ad-hoc payroll and finance-related tasks and projects.
Qualifications and skills
* Experience in payroll.
* Solid understanding of payroll legislation and compliance.
* Strong Excel skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
* Professional, approachable, and able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
