British Sign Language Level 2 Tutor

About the role
To provide progression routes for our learners, we are looking for a Variable Hours Tutor in British Sign Language Level 2 (BSL). Hours are variable and can cover daytimes, evenings and weekends. The classes will be at our Parkshot campus in Richmond. Variable Hours Tutors work closely with Programme Managers in the design, planning and delivery of courses which stretch and challenge our learners, as well as preparing a variety of learning materials, providing guidance to learners on progression options, attending termly meetings and completing course administration. Our tutors deliver engaging learning sessions for a range of learner groups and ability levels to ensure high levels of learner satisfaction with the College.

About You

1. You will have a passion for promoting the language, culture and diversity of the Deaf community.
2. You will have English and Maths minimum Level 2 qualifications, and a minimum of BSL Level 3.
3. A teaching qualification is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply but will be required to complete the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, provided by the College.
4. You will be able to deliver engaging learning sessions for a range of learner groups and ability levels, and to ensure high levels of learner satisfaction and achievement.
5. You will be able to undertake scheduled teaching on qualification provision (on College site and in outreach centres), assessment, educational guidance, preparation of learning materials and assignments, arrangements for examinations, feedback and marking of students’ work, invigilating and marking of examinations, and administration of own courses.
