At Portsmouth City Council, we are committed to delivering outstanding services to support our city’s most vulnerable children. We’re currently looking for a qualified and experienced Social Worker (Children’s Higher Grade) to join our dedicated team.
In terms of management team – supervision is completed with social workers every 4 weeks (both case supervision and personal supervision), this is completed 1-1 by the team manager. In addition to that, we have team meetings at least once per fortnight and group supervision, guest speakers and peer review is part of these meetings on rotation. We also have full-service meetings, learning sessions and team away days throughout the year.

What We’re Looking For:
* Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
* Has successfully completed the ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) Has a minimum of 3 years post-ASYE experience in statutory children’s social work As a Social Worker within our Children’s Social Care team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families across the city. You will: Develop and manage care plans tailored to children’s needs Undertake direct work, including life story work, with children and young people Promote positive outcomes and ensure every child has a clear and timely permanence plan Contribute to the “Going Home” pathway where appropriate Provide a service that is responsive to the wishes, feelings, and individual needs of children You will be encouraged and supported to work creatively and be solution-focused in your practice, always involving children and young people in shaping their care plans.
