Do you have the motivation and commitment to make a difference to children’s lives? We are looking to recruit an outstanding Senior Lunchtime Play & Engagement Leader on a permanent basis to work from 11.15 – 13.45pm daily. This role will involve taking responsibility for ensuring a structured and safe environment by which all pupils at Ark Blacklands can enjoy happy lunchtimes. This will be accomplished by overseeing the care, welfare and supervision of the children in all areas inside and outside of the school; by leading a team of staff and directing them in the engagement of play activities with the children throughout the lunchtime period. As part of Ark Blacklands, a large and over-subscribed 3-form entry primary school, you will join a community of staff dedicated to transforming education in Hastings, rising to the challenges and opportunities of the area we serve. The successful candidate will: Be able to lead a team Have good organisational and communication skills Be able to use their initiative and be open to new ideas Be able to organise and monitor a range of purposeful activities for the pupils to engage with during lunchtime (both during good weather and ‘wet’ lunchtime) Have experience of establishing positive relationships with children Have an enthusiasm for and an active interest in children’s welfare and play Be competent in the use of IT packages such as Microsoft and email.
