Job Summary:
We are seeking an assistant machine operator to join our growing team to work in our packaging department and oversee the operation of 7 automated packaging machines that package bulk quantities of seed into individual packets of a few grams or specific quantities of seeds.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the continual operation of the machines
* Machine changeover as different products are put through the machines, as well as changing consumables (foil, ink etc.) as these are consumed during the packaging process
* Any maintenance, cleaning etc to ensure machines are well looked after
* Warehouse support unloading bulk deliveries, getting product from and returning it to the bulk warehouse.
* Manual packaging from time to time as required due to the nature of some products
Requirements:
* Experience working with machines, or a technical background or interest and a keen sense to learn how machines work.
* Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
* Competency in Windows-based IT skills
* A positive attitude, with a willingness to learn and support this small business, along with a good sense of humour.
Additional Information:
Full time position on a permanent contract
Monday to Fri. 09:00 – 17: hrs) or 08:00 – 16:00 as agreed with your line manager. During peak season (Jan - May) alternate Saturdays
There is an unpaid lunch break of 30 minutes.
Additional hrs are paid at the standard hourly rate.
