Working Hours: 35 hours per week

As Skills Programme Delivery Manager, you will manage the Skills Programme Team and the successful delivery of HES's 'Craft Your Career' training programmes.

You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality workplace learning using traditional building skills, conservation, and construction accreditation through our Trainee, Craft Fellow, Pre-apprenticeship, Modern Apprenticeship programmes. You will work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality training experiences. These programmes are fundamental to the delivery of HES's strategic objectives, to address sector skills gaps and to ensure that HES's own skills needs are met.

Key Responsibilities of this role

Strategic Delivery

* Support the delivery of HES and sector-wide priorities, including alignment with the Skills Investment Plan (SIP), HES's Corporate Plan and Annual Operating Plan.

* Provide insight to help shape programme strategy.

Operational Delivery

* Manage and deliver high-quality workplace training through 'Craft Your Career' and related programmes.

* Assist with budget planning, forecasting, and monitoring.

* Manage and advise on programme health and safety and carry out regular visits to training placements across Scotland/UK.

* Support robust and ongoing resource capacity and capability management in relation to placement numbers.

* Report on programme progress in line with HES standards.

* Promote the programmes and celebrate achievements.

PeopleManagement

* Lead the Skills Programme Team (3 Skills Programme Officers and approximately 50 participants at any time).

Programme Development

* Develop evaluation methods that meet HES, Skills Investment Plan, and funder needs.

* Review and improve processes and share learning.

* Produce high-quality management reports.

Partnership Development

* Maintain relationships with placement hosts and advise on safe working practices.

* Work with partners to provide high-quality placements.

* Identify and grow new partnerships.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing

* Ensure strong health and safety practices are in place across all training activities.

* Escalate concerns to the Skills Programme Development Manager.

Key requirements of the role:

Essential:

* Ability to build positive, professional relationships.

* Strong people management skills with experience leading teams.

* Knowledge of the historic environment sector and relevant training needs.

* Experience delivering workplace learning in the historic environment or construction sector.

* Experience setting up and managing work programmes.

* Awareness of health and safety, safeguarding, and accessibility requirements.

* Good IT skills, including report writing and Excel.

* Valid UK driving licence.

* This role involves doing regulated work with children and young or vulnerable adults, as such this post will require an application to Disclosure Scotland for membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme (PVG scheme) check on top of the Basic Disclosure check carried out for all HES employees.
