Overview
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Endoscopist to join our high‑performing and expanding Endoscopy Service. The role involves independently performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy on both sedated and non‑sedated patients across Charing Cross, St Mary’s, and Hammersmith Hospitals. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver, develop, and continually improve the service.
Key Responsibilities
* Be a JAG accredited endoscopist, performing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI endoscopy procedures autonomously.
* Undertake five endoscopy lists per week, and provide backfill for a second list when required.
* Contribute actively to the endoscopy users’ group.
* Collaborate with clinical, nursing and administrative teams to ensure clear patient pathways and effective management plans.
* Develop and maintain audits and databases for compliance with JAG regulations; present findings and recommendations to the multidisciplinary team.
* Analyze screening uptake data to identify differences and trends, and target health promotion efforts.
* Engage in developing and maintaining a range of expert networks.
