You will be working for a boutique Lloyd's Broker specializing in Marine Insurance, with offices worldwide. They are fully service-oriented, serving clients with expertise in various marine coverages, including Hull & Machinery, Increased Value, Freight Interest, P&I, War Risks, Kidnap & Ransom, and Yachts. They handle business from multiple offices and directly with clients and other brokers. The company has extensive experience with diverse accounts and tonnages. Due to expansion, a position for a Senior Account Handler/Technician has arisen, requiring presence in the office 4 days a week.
Your new role
As a Senior Account Handler/Technician, you will manage your own portfolio within a team of 5, including Brokers and Account Handlers. Responsibilities include creating open market MRCs, facility declaration off-slips, endorsements, and preparing client documentation accurately. You will submit MRC slips via the Whitespace Platform or email, manage renewals and adjustments, process risks in the broking system, generate debit/credit notes, and issue closings to underwriters. Additional duties involve calculating and processing premiums for Hull & War placements, submitting LPAN premiums to DXC, handling queries, supporting Placing Brokers, collaborating with the Accounts/Finance team, and liaising with overseas offices. You will also lead weekly team meetings to discuss renewals.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience as an Account Handler or Technician in the London Insurance Market is essential. Marine Hull & War experience with multinational exposure, attention to detail in preparing MRC slips, premium processing skills, and familiarity with placing platforms are required. The role benefits from a process-driven approach, ownership, teamwork, strong communication, attention to detail, and workload prioritization. Knowledge of Italian and Cert CII qualification are advantageous but not mandatory.
