The Role
We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable Seasonal Ecologists to support a wide range of field surveys and reporting during the 2025 survey season. This is a great opportunity for graduates or early-career ecologists seeking hands-on experience and development within a supportive consultancy environment. You’ll work closely with our permanent ecology team on various survey types, including:
* Extended Phase 1 Habitat / UKHab surveys
* Bat activity and emergence/re-entry surveys
* Great crested newt surveys (eDNA and HSI assessments)
* Reptile, badger, and other protected species surveys
* Water vole and otter surveys
* Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and baseline reporting support
What We’re Looking For
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
* Some prior fieldwork experience (voluntary or paid)
* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and early mornings
* A basic understanding of UK ecology and relevant legislation
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car is highly desirable
* Desirable Skills: CIEEM membership (student or qualifying)
* Familiarity with QGIS or similar mapping software
* Experience with protected species survey techniques
* Business Unit: Environmental Sustainability Compliance
