Fabricator & Welder (MIG & TIG) - Manchester - Full-time - Permanent
A skilled Fabricator/Welder is required to join a precision engineering and manufacturing team. The role involves producing high-quality, bespoke metal components and assemblies using MIG and TIG welding processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Interpret engineering and fabrication drawings to produce components to specification.
• Set up, operate and maintain MIG/TIG welding equipment.
• Carry out fabrication work - cutting, forming, grinding, fitting and assembly.
• Fabricate frames, housings, brackets and supports in mild and stainless steel (and occasionally super duplex).
• Assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) as required.
• Support the testing team with fabrication of test rigs and pipe spools.
• Contribute to process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in welding/fabrication within an engineering environment.
• Competent in MIG and TIG welding (mild and stainless steel).
• Able to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Experienced with plasma cutting, grinding, forming and assembly work.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
• Physically capable of handling large fabrications and using lifting equipment safely.
• Desirable: NDT experience
