Role Overview
Manage the safe and effective delivery of Route Engineering Access plans, including pre, real-time, and post-activity phases. Lead investigations into possession-related incidents and provide comprehensive safety and delivery reports.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead safety culture in possession activities, including briefings and audits.
2. Manage in-house and contracted possession teams, acting as a role model.
3. Investigate possession incidents and support stakeholders.
4. Ensure safe and efficient possession plan delivery.
5. Minimize Schedule 8 exposure, ensuring proper contingency planning.
6. Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
7. Support development of the Route Engineering Access plan.
8. Produce safety-critical documentation for access activities.
9. Report on possession activities to stakeholders for continuous improvement.
10. Promote continuous improvement and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential: Front-line delivery experience, leadership skills, knowledge of safety rules, railway geography, analytical reporting, stakeholder engagement, incident investigation, valid UK driving license.
Desirable: Protection Controller, Engineering Supervisor qualifications.
