Managing Director required to join a well-established engineering company based in Birmingham, West Midlands. The successful Managing Director will lead the business, grow sales, improve operations, and make sure the company continues to deliver great service to customers in industries such as manufacturing, energy, utilities, food & beverage, and building services. The Managing Director will have senior leadership experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical services, with a strong history of running a business, managing budgets, and improving performance. There will be regular travel within the UK to visit customers and other company sites. Package Up to £75,000 depending on experience Bonus Pension Benefits package Role Lead the business with full responsibility for strategy, sales, and operations Create and follow a plan to grow sales and profits Build strong relationships with customers in key sectors Oversee projects from the first enquiry to installation and aftersales support Have a good understanding of mechanical equipment, process systems, and packaged solutions Make sure all work meets industry safety and quality standards Lead and support a skilled team across engineering, sales, and operations Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow Work with other companies in the group to win more business Travel within the UK to visit customers and company sites Requirements Experience as a Managing Director, General Manager, Operations Director, Engineering Director, or similar Leadership experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical services Proven record of managing budgets, growing sales, and improving performance Understanding of mechanical or process systems and related services Knowledge of industry safety and quality standards Strong leadership skills to build and motivate teams Engineering qualification – desirable Experience in industries such as food & beverage, utilities, energy, or building services – an advantage Must be able to commute to Birmingham
