We work with SME's in Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond. As well as compliance services (Annual Accounts, Business and Personal Tax, VAT, Payroll) we also provide regular management accounts and virtual Finance Manager services. Our services go beyond accounting and taxation by offering tools and strategies designed to help businesses grow and maximise their profitability.
We are a boutique team of around 15 staff and are now looking to add a Client Manager to our "A" team.

The Client Manager is a full-time hybrid role responsible for fostering strong client relationships and serving as a trusted advisor to SMEs. The Client Manager will also ensure compliance with accounting standards, deliver insightful financial reports, and provide excellence in customer service and consultancy. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams and our clients.
This job is hybrid based and you\'ll need to live within commuting distance of Edinburgh and be able to work between 10am and 4pm in the office 2 to 3 days per week.
Key day-to-day tasks include :
* Preparation of year end accounts for clients (typical turnover levels between £100k and £2m) on IRIS
* Preparation of corporation tax returns for clients
* Preparation of self-assessment tax returns for clients (these will be the directors of the Ltd companies in your client portfolio plus some Tax Only clients)
* Peer review of annual accounts for other client managers in the practice
* Review of VAT returns where required
* Act as the client manager for a group of clients. This will include:
* Ensuring that clients receive a prompt response to queries.
* Ensuring that jobs for clients are appropriately priced for the standard of records received and are completed profitably.
* Ensuring that work is completed within the agreed timescales
* Pre year end meetings where required and post year end sign off meetings / calls.
* Prepare management accounts for the assigned list of clients and hold management accounts meetings with clients.
We are looking for someone with :
* Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) either qualified or part qualified
* At least 3 years proven experience in effectively supporting and advising SMEs in an Accounting Practice
* Expertise in cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, FreeAgent, and related technologies
* Proficiency in financial analysis, bookkeeping, and accounting processes
* Strong relationship-building, client interaction, and client service skills
* Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to work independently
* Good life experience, interesting hobbies, and work experience in non financial sectors
