Priory is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our brand-new nurse-led residential service supporting individuals with complex mental health needs. This is a part‑time 15‑hour role that focuses on providing expert clinical leadership and personalised care to residents.
Responsibilities
* Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including detailed histories, mental state examinations, and risk assessments.
* Provide expert clinical leadership and supervision to multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
* Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans, utilising pharmacological, psychological, and other therapeutic interventions, with careful monitoring of medication efficacy and side effects.
* Liaise with primary care providers, social services, legal agencies, and community organisations to ensure integrated and coordinated care pathways.
* Drive service development and quality improvement initiatives through participation in clinical audits, research projects, and staff training.
What You'll Bring
You will have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent in Psychiatry, be fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise in the UK, and possess substantial experience managing complex mental health conditions in NHS or equivalent settings. Knowledge of NHS standards, NICE guidance, and the Mental Health Act is essential, as are proven skills in psychopharmacology, risk assessment, and evidence‑based treatment approaches. Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder engagement abilities are required, along with experience contributing to clinical audits, service development, and training.
