Overview
As a Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in our close-knit care team, ensuring residents receive exceptional care and support. You’ll help with daily routines, promote independence, and prioritize residents’ health and happiness.
Responsibilities
* Assist residents with daily routines from getting dressed to staying active, encouraging independence and positive choices.
* Follow and support each resident’s personalized care plan with hands-on help and attentive, individualized care.
* Monitor residents’ health and communicate any concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager; assist with calls to relatives or healthcare professionals as needed.
* Uphold dignity and respect for every resident in all interactions.
* Encourage social interactions among residents and with staff to create a warm, welcoming environment.
* Collaborate with housekeepers to maintain clean, safe, and comfortable living spaces; respond quickly to emergencies or call bells.
* Assist residents with eating and drinking as needed to meet nutritional requirements.
* Contribute to an atmosphere of joy and well-being for residents.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
* Experience: Ideally, at least 6 months as a Care Assistant; we welcome those with transferable skills and a passion for care.
* Passion: Genuine interest in caring for the elderly and delivering excellent service.
* Values: Integrity, respect, and a strong sense of teamwork.

Location: Thornfield Care Home is situated on the outskirts of Seaton, near the Jurassic Coast; the home is registered for 52 residents. You will be a key part of achieving an excellent standard of care and promoting the home’s values and ethos.
