Role: SEN Tutor (1:1 & Small Group Specialist Support) Location: Dorchester & surrounding areas – learner homes / community settings / flexible delivery Hours: Flexible – Part-Time or Full-Time How You’ll Make a Difference Plan and deliver personalised sessions aligned with EHCP targets and individual learning needs Support pupils with SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and other additional needs Assess starting points and create structured, achievable progression plans Re-engage learners who may be out of mainstream education or struggling in traditional settings Use adaptive, differentiated, and therapeutic-informed strategies Build trusting relationships that support emotional wellbeing alongside academic growth Provide regular progress feedback to families, schools, and TP Tutors Your role will not only support attainment — it will help rebuild confidence, independence, and belief. What We’re Looking For Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs Strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching approaches Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, or additional barriers to education A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional conduct Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) We encourage applications from qualified teachers, SEN specialists, HLTA’s, TA’s, tutors, and experienced support practitioners.
