Why This Role is Special As a Disability Support Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping children with learning difficulties feel confident, included, and supported every day. You’ll work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning experience for every child. Your Main Responsibilities Support Learning: Help students in the classroom, either one-on-one or in small groups, so they can understand and enjoy their lessons. Create a Safe Space: Make sure every child feels welcome, safe, and included in the classroom. Track Progress: Keep an eye on how students are doing and share this with teachers and parents. Work as a Team: Join in staff meetings and planning sessions to share ideas and support each other. Encourage Growth: Help students build confidence, independence, and social skills. Stay Organised: Keep clear records and communicate well with teachers, parents, and other staff. What We’re Looking For Experience: You’ve worked in a similar role before and understand how to support children with learning difficulties. Great Communicator: You can talk clearly and kindly with children, parents, and staff. Caring Nature: You’re patient, understanding, and truly care about helping children succeed. Team Player: You enjoy working with others and sharing ideas. Training (Desirable): Any qualifications or training in disability support are a bonus, but not essential. To Work with GSL Education, You’ll Need The right to work in the UK. An up-to-date CV with two references from the last 2 years. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one through us). A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
