We're looking for a passionate, reliable, and energetic Dance Teacher to join our team for the Autumn Term 2025 and beyond. This role focuses primarily on delivering after-school dance clubs in primary schools around Wandsworth/Putney, with the opportunity to take on additional hours through our Saturday morning dance programme and future projects as we grow.
This is a self-employed position with the opportunity for ongoing work, future growth, and leadership opportunities within our expanding company.
What You'll Do
* Deliver fun, structured, and engaging after-school dance clubs to children aged 4–11.
* Teach Ballet, Commercial, and Street Dance styles with age-appropriate structure and progression.
* Create original choreography tailored to a range of abilities and key stages.
* Inspire creativity, confidence, and a love of dance in every child.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
* Provide clear and friendly communication with parents, carers, and school staff when required.
* Support children in preparing for end-of-term sharings, showcases, or informal performances.
Days & Times
After-School Clubs (Wandsworth/Putney)
* Fridays | 3:30 – 4:30 PM
* Additional weekday cover work available.
* More hours may be offered depending on demand, performance opportunities, and new school partnerships.
Saturday Morning Dance Programme (Wandsworth/Putney)
* 9:30 – 11:30 AM (two hours of classes).
* Reduced block 9:30 – 10:45 AM.
* Possibility of more hours depending on demand for classes and new groups opening.
Requirements
* Confident in teaching Ballet and Commercial/Street Dance to children in primary schools.
* Proven experience choreographing for young dancers (ages 4–11).
* A creative, professional, and approachable personality who loves working with kids.
* Strong classroom management skills to ensure smooth and positive sessions.
* Ability to commit for the full Autumn Term (Sept–Dec 2025) with potential to continue into Spring 2026 and beyond.
Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain)
* Enhanced DBS Certificate (essential).
* First Aid Certificate (preferred).
* Public Liability Insurance (PLI).
* Dance qualification (e.g., BA, RAD, ISTD, or equivalent).
Pay
* Friday After-School Club: £35 per hour.
* Saturday Programme (Wandsworth/Putney):
* £55 for the full block (9:30 – 11:30 AM)
* £40 for reduced block (9:30 – 10:45 AM)
