An opportunity has arisen for a Data Engineer to join our Battery Systems team. In this role, you will work directly with the early-stage team developing an innovative new software product, delivering an exceptional user design experience for our ambitious product roadmap.
Job role:
1. Act as an Engineering Lead for the technical onboarding of new customers, collaborating with Key Account Managers.
2. Engage with existing and prospective customers to understand requirements, and develop Proof of Concepts and Demos.
3. Drive and oversee end-to-end technical delivery for customer onboarding; identify and resolve issues and risks.
4. Utilize existing tools and develop custom implementations for data ingestion pipelines, ETL, and normalization.
5. Conduct data quality reviews, validate datasets using existing algorithms and analytics, identify data gaps, and work with customers to improve data quality.
6. Identify customer-specific onboarding needs and develop custom solutions or escalate as needed; act as the technical lead for these implementations.
7. Support account managers with specialized technical support and training beyond standard documentation.
8. Collaborate with product development teams to prioritize and evolve product vision based on customer feedback, representing the customer's technical perspective.
Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.
* Experience in data-related roles, especially with time series data.
* Knowledge of modern data pipeline architectures and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), with AWS preferred.
* Hands-on experience with data pipelines, data normalization, and cloud services like AWS Lambda, S3, ECS.
* Proficiency with ETL tools for batch and streaming data (e.g., Athena, Glue, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Spark/Hadoop).
* Strong Python skills for data science, including best practices like code review, testing, version control, and CI/CD frameworks (e.g., Git, Azure DevOps).
* Proactive, flexible thinker with innovative ideas and cross-disciplinary understanding.
* Focus on process, people, and technology improvements.
Desirable:
* Experience in the battery domain.
* Experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
