The Role:
As a Static Detonation Chamber Worker you will be responsible for handling, preparing, processing ordnance, munitions and explosives within the SDC facility.
Day-to-day, you’ll ensure the safe movement, inspection, loading and the disposal of explosive materials while adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Handling, transporting, preparing ordnance, munitions and explosives for processing in the Static Detonation Chamber
* Inspecting and verifying munitions for compliance with processing requirements
* Assisting in the setup, operation and monitoring of the SDC system during ordnance processing
* Conducting pre-operation checks on equipment reporting any issues to the maintenance team
* Adhering to all HSE, DSA and Ministry of Defence regulations related to explosive materials handling and disposal
* Completing documentation as necessary assisting in inventory management and tracking of munitions and explosive materials
Essential experience of the Static Detonation Chamber Worker:
* The ability to work in hazardous environments with strict safety and compliance protocols
* Being physically capable of lifting heavy loads, earing PPE and working in confined spaces

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Shoeburyness site. This role is a fully on-site role.
QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a significant test and evaluation facility specialising in defence and security technologies. The site is focused on Environmental Testing including the evaluation of various ordnance, explosives and related systems. Implementing measures to ensure that testing activities comply with environmental regulations and minimise ecological impact.
