Payroll Administrator (Maternity Cover – 9 Months)

What You'll Do:
* Take ownership of your own client payrolls, processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly runs.
* Be the go-to expert for your clients, building relationships and answering payroll-related queries with clarity and confidence.
* Stay compliant: administer auto-enrolment pensions, handle PAYE and NIC submissions, and ensure accurate processing in line with RTI and HMRC requirements.
* Offer guidance on payroll legislation, including tax, NI, and workplace pensions.
* Prepare reports, manage statutory deductions, and maintain meticulous records.
* Support ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement within our payroll team.
What We're Looking For:
* At least 2 years' payroll experience, ideally within a payroll bureau/accountancy practice environment.
* Solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation (tax, NI, auto-enrolment).
* Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
* Professional and friendly communicator, able to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
* Proficient with payroll software (e.g., Xero, BrightPay, Sage) and confident in Excel.
* Proactive, reliable, and able to handle confidential data with discretion.
* CIS knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
