KS1 Teaching Assistant – Job Advert
Position: Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time
Location: Colne
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2026
Salary: £14.30 - £15.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities
Provide effective support to the class teacher in delivering high‑quality learning.
Work with individuals or small groups of pupils to reinforce teaching and facilitate progress.
Assist with the planning and preparation of learning activities.
Support children with reading, writing, phonics and early maths skills.
Help create a positive, engaging and purposeful classroom environment.
Promote good behaviour and act as a positive role model.
Contribute to the welfare, wellbeing, and safeguarding of all pupils.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have experience working with children in an educational setting (school-based experience is desirable).
Are patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting young learners.
Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Have good communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach.
Are able to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
Hold (or are willing to work towards) relevant TA qualifications.
