Grafton Banks Finance is currently working with a growing commercial business in Folkestone to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Group Finance Director and working within a busy, expanding company, you will be responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the company's accounting and finances.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
1. Daily/weekly reconciliation of bank transactions for each site within the group
2. Scanning, coding, and input of supplier invoices
3. Monthly supplier statement reconciliations
4. Producing suggested supplier payments for approval on a weekly/monthly basis
5. Reconciling cash-ups to bank and credit card providers daily/weekly and reporting variances
6. Posting weekly sales journal
7. Checking employee expense claims and payments
8. Assisting with payroll for all sites within the group and liaising with the payroll bureau
9. Weekly flash reporting for all sites within the group
10. Balance sheet reconciliations
11. Assisting with group cash flows, budgets, and forecasting
12. Supporting statutory requirements and liaising with external accounting firms
13. Providing support to all teams and ensuring transparent information for commentary
The ideal candidate will have experience working in finance, particularly around purchase ledger and reconciling large volumes of financial data. You should possess excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for working closely with the Finance Director and non-finance colleagues. The role requires enthusiasm, confidence, multitasking ability, and the capacity to work well under pressure.
