1st Staff are a leading nationwide Alternative Provision, looking to expand their team of specialist tutors and educators. If you have a passion for supporting young people, keen to inspire and instill confidence in their learning – then we want to hear from you!
We take a holistic approach to support; our tuition supports young people academically as well as therapeutically, as we emphasize the importance of young people’s wellbeing and welfare through building great working rapports and mentoring.
The Role
As a tutor you will be required to deliver tuition sessions to help young people gain the confidence and bridge gaps in their learning, to potentially help them return to education. Unlike agencies, 1st Staff also provide a support network for all our tutors such as a Lead Tutor for your specific area, Designated Safeguarding Leads, Curriculum Leads for Maths and English, Behavioural specialist and a Head of Education.
We are currently searching for tutors in Brentwood, Essex and surrounding areas.
Location: Face to face in a Child’s home, local library, or community centre

Role: 1:1 Tutor
*
Hours: Part-time or full-time
*
Most referrals are 10–15 hours per week
*
Full-time tutors typically support multiple students
*
Start Date: ASAP
*
Subjects: English and Maths
Experience Required
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN / SEMH needs
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons
* A flexible, supportive, and student-centred approach
* Ability to complete lesson reports and provide detailed feedback on the young person’s progress
* Excellent communication skills
* A commitment to safeguarding
