Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Practitioner with a keen interest in working within our 136 suite. You will work within a multidisciplinary team providing care, treatment and assessment to service users presenting in crisis. You will be required to work shifts in numbers alongside our Clinical Support Workers and Registered Nurses with the crisis team at times when the suite isn't in use. You will work a combination of long days / night shifts including unsociable hours – some weekends and bank holidays. It is a fast‑paced working environment and no day looks the same. In this role there is scope to develop your knowledge, skills and ability in all areas of clinical care including care/discharge planning, risk assessment, admission prevention, environmental health & safety, Mental Health Act work & physical health care. You will be working closely with service users who have been detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act in a purpose built suite, liaising with other services including Police and Social Services. The role involves providing holistic care to those in the suite looking at both physical and mental health and updating care records.
Comprehensive training and supervision is offered. Ideally, you will have experience of working within mental health services. You will be an excellent communicator, self‑motivated and committed to delivering a high standard of care.
Qualifications and Requirements
* A Care certificate or equivalent qualification completed within the first 12 weeks of start date, or relevant equivalent qualification.
* Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care / Mental Health at Level 5 or Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care / Mental Health Level 5.
