Key responsibilities for the Financial Controller:
* Lead preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and board reports
* Maintain balance sheet integrity through thorough review, reconciliation, and risk management
* Manage external audit processes, acting as main liaison with auditors
* Oversee banking relationships, cash flow, covenant compliance, and insurance renewals.
* Design & implement management information systems to support business decisions
* Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling in collaboration with key departments
* Lead, develop, and motivate the finance team to achieve high performance
* Continuously improve financial processes, controls, and reporting tools
Skills and experience required:
* Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
* Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Maths
* Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP systems
* Proven experience managing and developing finance teams
* Experience gained within the construction sector - Desirable
* Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
* Experience managing external audit and banking relationships
* Demonstrable ability in budgeting, forecasting and producing board-level MI
