Job Description
Required 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Working Monday - Sunday, 5 over 7, to include 1 day at the weekend. Hours alternate weekly between 6.30am-3pm and 12-8.30pm.
Downe House is a leading independent boarding and day school for girls based in Cold Ash, Berkshire. We operate an in-house fully catered service for pupils and staff which includes breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week. In addition, we hold numerous catered events and formal dinners throughout the year.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Catering & Events Manager in the day to day running of the catering operation in any catering outlet on site.
* Supervise all General Assistants and Kitchen Porters on shift.
* Take responsibility for servicing hospitality and events as directed by the Catering & Events Manager.
* Ensure that organisational standards are met with regards to hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
Qualifications
* Previous experience of working in a similar role catering for large numbers.
* Passion for food and customer service.
* Understanding of food hygiene requirements.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Own transport is essential as the school is in a rural location with no public transport links.
