The purpose of the role is to ensure the satisfactory completion of vehicle repairs arising in the region, including protracted diagnosis, contentious situations, disputes with customers, technical investigations, alternative repairs due to Parts non-availability, assignment of additional support.
This role is field based.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- To ensure the satisfactory completion of vehicle repairs arising in the region, including protracted diagnosis, contentious situations, disputes with customers, technical investigations, alternative repairs due to Parts non-availability, assignment of additional support
- Daily contact with the Authorised Repairers (Service Managers, Customer Facing Staff, and Master Technicians) to fully understand any customers concerns or detect and/or confirm new vehicle defects.
- Daily contact with the TDC Central teams to establish whether or not they have knowledge of such defects and if further investigation is required.
- Anticipate potentially commercially damaging product deficiencies or malfunctions and be able to take the appropriate actions, to minimise the “fall out” in public relations terms.
- Working with the Authorised Repairer where necessary to make contact with a customer in order to fully understand the circumstances surrounding an incident and/or how the defect manifested itself.
- Analyse all the information available and carry out the diagnosis of the defect and supply the correct information to the Master technician and feedback to Technical Platforms.
- Carry out dealer visits in their region and arrange audio/site Swift dealer visits on a weekly basis
- Communicate with their line manager daily/weekly with updates including, visit logs, updating assistance tickets and detailed mission reports which need to be completed and submitted within 2 workdays after the visit.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Master Technician level, ideally for at least 5 years
- Good Knowledge of Authorised Repairer working practices and procedures
- Must have good IT skills
- Be able to assimilate technical data
- Ability to collect, analyse a range of data using advance diagnostic equipment
- Must possess a logical approach to problem solving, be articulate and have a pro-active attitude towards the establishment of goals and tasks.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence, Flexibility to travel in UK and Europe, the latter only in exceptional circumstances
