We have a vacancy for a Plant Manager to lead our Sri Lanka Manufacturing site in the fulfillment of all its customer contracts and orders.
The role holder will be responsible for ensuring the site meets quality and cost parameters within contracted timelines and in accordance with standard quality and operational best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensure compliance with operational, quality and HSE best practices
* Driving site to hit financial and commercial objectives in line with medium-range plan, budget and S&OP
* Ensure site is able to deliver short, medium and long term customer needs (Q/C/D/Satisfaction), industry standards and business continuity
* Ensure the optimal management and utilisation of production equipment
* Deliver the site business plan through Tactical Implementation Plans and SSQCDP work packages all underpinned through the Operational Excellence framework and Factory Management System.
* Serve as a Director on the Sri Lanka Joint Venture Board.
* Lead site to ensure all teams are receptive to the adoption of the Future Footprint operating model, including line specialisation and redeployment activities as required
* Drive line optimisaion to ensure key targets are achieved
Requirements:
* Strong leadership, influencing, communication and people management skills with the ability to work with people at all levels constructively and collaboratively
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Demonstration of strong customer and supplier relationships
* Exceptional commercial awareness
* Experience and understanding of continuous improvement techniques; culture change programmes and managing growth
* Expertise in operational excellence with a track record of establishing best practice in lean manufacturing techniques; relentless in pursuit of excellence (makes the factory better every day)
* A broad understanding of complex manufacturing processes
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to understand strategic concepts and operational details simultaneously
* A thorough understanding of manufacturing policies and procedures (HS&E, HR, Operating methods)
* Previous Management/leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
* Demonstrable experience in a leadership position with a passion for identifying, developing and nurturing talent
* Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental Management techniques and its importance within a manufacturing environment qualified to IOSH (minimum) ‘Managing Safely’ level or equivalent
* Demonstrable experience of working with complex Unionised agreements and collectively bargained workforces.
