Product Sustaining Technician This is a hands-on role focused on supporting engineering investigations across existing product portfolios. You will work closely with engineers to carry out testing, fault finding, and data collection, helping to identify root causes and validate solutions. The role suits someone who enjoys analytical thinking, problem solving, and understanding not just what failed, but why. Many investigations involve following evidence, challenging assumptions, applying structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys and root cause analysis, and building a clear technical understanding of complex issues Key Responsibilities Carry out fault finding on electronic assemblies and VFD units Set up and run test rigs for electrical and functional testing Perform measurements using lab equipment Record and document test results clearly and accurately Build and modify test samples and prototype units Support validation testing of component and design changes Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient lab environment About You Practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail Naturally curious and interested in understanding how electronic systems work and fail Enjoys analytical thinking and solving technical problems methodically Good problem solving mindset and willingness to learn Communicates clearly within a team environment Takes pride in producing accurate and reliable work Technical Requirements HNC/HND (or equivalent experience) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering Basic understanding of electronic circuits and components Ability to use standard lab equipment Experience in fault finding or testing of electronic systems Desirable Experience Experience working with power electronics or industrial equipment Exposure to fault finding on PCB assemblies or control systems Experience working in a lab, production, or test environment Brand: Invertek Drives Company: Invertek Drives Ltd
