Location: Halifax Road, Bradford / Hybrid Working (one to two office days a week – Bradford).
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

Where you fit in!
This role secures the investment required by the business in order to achieve all its strategic objectives across all business areas, ensuring a joined-up approach across supporting Management & General streams as well as the core clean and wastewater functions.
The asset deterioration modelling brings a particular focus on understanding and improving asset health alongside creation of the base maintenance programme which will ensure a sustainable business in the long term.
As our Strategic Asset Planner you will;
• Develop, implement, and maintain processes and plans that align with our asset management strategy, policy, and objectives over the next 25 years.
• Analyse asset/service-related data and information to establish the condition and performance of the asset base, aiming to understand the investment requirements to meet the Regulatory framework in relation to the Strategic Direction of Yorkshire Water.
• Collaborate with technical specialists (internal and external) to provide advice and services to the business, assessing, informing, and influencing the potential benefits from future investment scenarios. These services include asset management planning, utility performance improvement, regulatory advisory services, investment appraisals, asset strategies, and project finance advice.
• Develop and update asset investment strategies for all clean and waste assets.
• Develop and update asset investment strategies for Management and General. (Including Fleet Management, IT Investment, Investment and Maintenance, Facilities, Land & Property and site & Cyber Security.
• Provide asset deterioration modelling capability, offering visibility of our long-term asset replacement and refurbishment requirements (, 25 years+).
• Integrate asset model output intelligence into daily decision-making processes.
• Support the Base element of the PR submission. Base refers to the planned investment in sustaining and refurbishing essential infrastructure—such as pipelines, treatment plants, and pumping stations—to ensure ongoing reliable service and asset longevity.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
• Develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships and ability to communicate and engage people at all levels.
• Clearly demonstrates the Yorkshire Water company values and behaviours.
• Ability to gain an understanding of asset data and information. Has a proven track record of handling/processing data.
• Self-motivated, able to identify and source information to support analysis, and to explain and present complex data sets.
• The successful candidate will possess a methodical mindset and strong attention to detail, enabling them to deliver high-quality and precise work.
• Interest in strategy and asset management.
