Administrator - learning and development team

Offer description

As a Learning and Development Administrator, you will work with internal and external training providers to ensure the council's learning, development and training offering is accessible to all, run efficiently and meets the needs of the council and our communities. The Administration team coordinate events, maintain the learning management system and training records and deal with customer enquires relating to development and training courses offered.


What you will be doing:

* Provide comprehensive administrative support to all stages of the learning journey, from arranging course bookings, promoting courses, updating training records, monitoring course numbers and alerting trainers and managers if course numbers are low.
* Act as the first point of contact for external providers, schedule training courses and ensure all training documents are provided; this may involve collating registers, photocopying handouts and preparing promotional documents.
* Use computer systems such as our Learning and Development Hub, Microsoft Office, Canva, Articulate Rise and internal council systems to administer courses.
* Set up rooms for training on required days, which will involve repositioning furniture such as tables and chairs.
* Support both internal and external customers with navigating the learning management systems, ensuring that clear information and guidance is provided or the issue is escalated to your line manager.
* Collate and maintain records, databases and documents and analyse information to ensure accurate reports are produced.


Qualifications & Experience

* NVQ 2 Level 2 qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or Customer Services, or equivalent experience in an administrative role.
* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to use initiative and judgement to process and resolve day‑to‑day problems independently.
* Good attention to detail, ability to produce accurate, error‑free work and proven written and verbal communication skills.
