WORKING PATTERN
12 weeks training, the first few weeks you will work on Monday-Friday at 9:00-17:00. Thereafter, training will continue during your regular shift hours which will be Tuesday-Friday nightshift 7:30pm-5:00am (T,W,T,F) – 30 min break.
What You Will Do
* Follow a highly regulated end-to-end sterilisation/decontamination process on surgical instruments that have been used in operations in local NHS and private hospitals, to ensure they can be used again safely for the next patient.
* Ensure the effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, surgical instruments, and equipment) by the process of decontamination, inspection, assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
* Rigorously check, wash, lay up and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications within predefined quality standards.
* Safely operate and monitor machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic and sterilisers) effectively.
* Ensure that repairs and missing instruments or equipment are recorded and logged on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
* Ensure that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.
