Salary: £40, + 25 days holiday + bank holidays
Employment Type: Full Time

Overview

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing logistics technology business that is looking for an EDI Specialist to take ownership of designing, developing and supporting high-quality EDI integrations. You'll work across transport, warehousing and supply-chain systems, ensuring clean, reliable data flows between customers, carriers and internal platforms. This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle role with strong influence over integration standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design end-to-end EDI workflows and map data across TMS, WMS, ERP and carrier systems.
2. Develop and configure integrations using EDIFACT, X12, XML, JSON and CSV.
3. Set up communication channels including AS2, SFTP, APIs and VAN connections.
4. Carry out unit, integration and end-to-end testing; validate CONTRL/ acknowledgements.
5. Monitor daily EDI traffic, resolve failures and maintain high reliability.
6. Work directly with clients, trading partners and internal teams during onboarding and troubleshooting.
7. Produce mapping specs, process documentation and support materials.
8. Recommend improvements and contribute to scalable integration patterns.

Essential Skills & Experience

9. Hands-on EDI development experience, ideally within logistics or supply chain.
10. Strong understanding of EDIFACT/X12 standards and mapping logic.
11. Knowledge of logistics data types such as orders, shipments, ASNs, inventory and tracking events.
12. Experience with AS2, FTP/SFTP, REST/SOAP APIs.
13. SQL proficiency and the ability to automate using Python or JavaScript.

Desirable

14. Middleware exposure (Cleo, Boomi, MuleSoft, Seeburger, IBM Sterling).
15. Experience with Azure or AWS integration services.
16. Understanding of logistics operations (pick/pack/ship, bookings, freight, goods receipt).
17. Consultancy or client-facing background.

Why This Role Stands Out

EDI is a core part of the organisation's automation and data strategy. Your work will directly improve operational accuracy, reduce manual processes and power high-quality analytics for clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving and building scalable integration solutions.
